The property is situated approximately 2½ km northeast of Bigga village, 55km northwest of Crookwell and a comfortable 3¾ hours’ drive from Sydney in the Southern Tablelands region of NSW. ‘East Pine Hill’ consists of 605* hectares (1,495* acres) and is mostly gently undulating running from low rolling hill on the eastern end to the Blackman’s Creek which forms part of the north-eastern boundary.
The soils across ‘East Pine Hill’ are typical of Southern Tableland soils being of generally Yellow Kurosols with natric, natric-magnesic or magnesic groups. Generally speaking, the soils are predominately Granite based loams ranging from grey loams to sandy loams with some clay loam. The property is well watered with its access to the Kangaroo Creek and a number of dams in all paddocks.
The average annual rainfall for the district is 750 mm (30 Inches). The country is lightly timbered, natural pasture, grazing land. An area of 85*ha has been farmed in the past and is considered suitable for cereal crop and hay production.
The mix of quality granite-based grey and brown sandy and clay loam soils together with the reliable rainfall and water supply underpin the production capacity of the property.
